Arizona’s First Male-Focused Domestic Violence
Prevention Program Launches in the West Valley

Brothers United Against Domestic Violence Launch Event July 17 at EMCC

Goodyear, AZ (June 8, 2017) – Dr. Rodney Pearson and his wife, Trenna, started Brothers United Against Domestic Violence (BUADV) to educate domestic violence perpetrators in an effort to end domestic violence.

“Most domestic violence is perpetrated by males against females,” said Dr. Pearson. “Our culture celebrates males who prove their strength through violence and abuse. That has to change.” BUADV seeks to bring about this change through education, retooling masculinity, positive communication skills, anger management, and unconditional love.

BUADV’s “Peace Pie” curriculum covers 5 basic areas to aid in self-control and positive behaviors. These attitude and behavior changes are instrumental in stopping and preventing domestic violence.

“Prevention is a very important part of BUADV, said Dr. Pearson. “Our hope is to speak to high school and college students in both public and private schools, and cover areas such as bullying, peer pressure, and date rape.”

BUADV kicks off with their launch event on Monday, July 17 at 6pm. Guest speakers include Jerald Monahan, Yavapai College Police Chief, Erin Callinan, Arizona Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence, and Dr. Pearson, among others. A special presentation from the Governor’s and Mayor’s Office will be part of the program as well.

The launch will be held at the Estrella Conference Center at Estrella Mountain Community College, 3000 North Dysart Road, Avondale, AZ 85392. Light refreshments will be served. There is no cost to attend the event; tickets are available online at
