Goodyear, Ariz. (May 1, 2018) – The city’s calendar is heating up with events all month long:

Extended Spring Training: Throughout May at Goodyear Ballpark, 1933 S. Ballpark Way. Catch these games for free at the development complex. For more information, visit www.goodyearbp.com.

Mother/Daughter Rock ‘n Roll: Saturday, May 19, 6-9 p.m. at Palm Valley Community Center, 14145 Palm Valley Blvd. Girls of all ages and their mother or special mother figure are invited to a night of DJ, dancing, contests, raffles, catered dinner and beverages. Fire Open House: Saturday, May 12, 9 a.m. to noon at Fire Station 183, 3075 N. Litchfield Road. Meet emergency medical professionals from Goodyear Fire, learn how to quickly stop blood loss and keep your family safe, and free hands-only CPR/AED & Stop the Bleed class. Senior Arts Programs:

  • Creative Aging Creating Your Own Story: May 8-29, 12:30-2 p.m. at Loma Linda Community Center, 420 E. Loma Linda Blvd. Art classes for those age 60 years and older. Explores the use of composition, color, drawing, and painting. Pre-registration is required, online or call 602-882-7525.
  • Middle Eastern Movement Class: Thursdays May 10-31, 1:30-3 p.m. at Loma Linda Community Center, 420 E. Loma Linda Blvd. Gain flexibility and toning while moving to music from Greece, Turkey, and Egypt. No floor work will be included in this class. Pre-registration is required on-line or in person at the Goodyear Recreation Office at 3075 N. Litchfield Road.

Kids to Park Day: May 19, 8-10 a.m. at Goodyear Community Park, 3151 N. Litchfield Road. Celebrate with outdoor activities, including a water balloon toss, kite flying, and much more!

Movie at the Pool, Nut Job 2 (Rated PG): Saturday, May 26, 5-9 p.m. at Goodyear Community Pool, 430 E. Loma Linda Blvd. Played on the outdoor big screen; begins shortly after dusk. Enjoy food trucks, face painting, balloon twisting, and kids’ activities.

Art lecture: Jason Carney, Executive Director of the Phoenix Film Foundation: May 29, at 7 p.m., Goodyear Total Wine & More, 1416 N. Litchfield Road. Uncover the different elements of film in Arizona. More information at www.goodyearaz.gov/arts.
