Goodyear selects new economic development director
The city of Goodyear has hired Lori Gary as director of Economic Development. Lori has more than 25 years of economic development experience and is a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) with the International Economic Development Council (IEDC). She also served as Arizona Association for Economic Development (AAED) president in 2010-11.
“Lori brings to us a wealth of experience, a solid reputation within the economic development community, a high-energy personality and a sincere enthusiasm for the Goodyear of today and the future,” said Goodyear City Manager Julie Arendall.
Lori spent the last six years in economic development with the city of Mesa and most recently served as a Senior Project Manager. She promoted new investment, redevelopment and reuse, and job creation within Mesa’s Fiesta District, Falcon District, and West Mesa.
As for other community and professional affiliations, Lori is currently a member of Toastmasters International, IEDC, Arizona Rural Development Council and the Industrial Development Authority. She has also held several positions with numerous non-profit organizations including, American Red Cross, United Way of Pinal County, Decatur Area Women's Network, Shemamo Girl Scouts Council and YWCA.
Lori and her husband Steve Bryant have lived in the West Valley for 12 years and she starts her new roll with the city of Goodyear on Sept. 25.
