Happy New Year, Goodyear!  We've had several inquiries this month on the construction at North Estrella Parkway between Panda Express and Sherwin-Williams, just south of I-10, and the answer is... 

Brakes Plus Estrella

The new Brakes Plus Store located on the west side of Estrella Parkway, south of McDowell Road in the Canyon Trails Plaza at 760 North Estrella Parkway. The total site area is approximately 1.54 +/- acres and will consist of a 5,148-square-foot building.

The automotive retail sales and service building will have similar architecture to match the retail center theme. The new location will create 15 new jobs for the Goodyear community.

 


 

Also underway, right down the street from Brakes Plus, is a new luxury rental community.  This new development will fill a niche market for those renters who do not need the size of a single-family home or that don’t want the maintenance that comes along with a yard, but also don’t want the traditional apartment experience with a loud neighbor above or below them.

Christopher Todd Communities at Estrella Commons is located on the north side of Van Buren Street east of Estrella Parkway separated by commercial parcels located on Estrella Parkway.

This community will be developed on 23.72 acres with 286 rental homes consisting of a mixture of one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units and is expected to open in 2020.

The development is a unique multi-family rental residential development with a density around 13 units per acre. While multi-family in zoning, with multiple dwelling units on a single parcel, Christopher Todd Communities at Estrella Commons will function more like a grouping of attached and detached single-family buildings with centralized amenities including two (2) open space turf areas, an exercise building and a community pool. Buildings are grouped to create intimate courtyards, anchored by a shade tree to support healthy neighborhood interaction. The community will have automatic gates, parking islands with trees placed throughout the development to break up the parking and allow for shade. Garages will also be available that can be rented for an additional fee.

Each unit is single story and offers a small private back yard, similar to a single-family home. The private back yard will be maintained by the site manager, just like the remainder of the property. For recreation, there will be two (2) lawn areas for active recreation as well as a community pool, spa, and covered Ramada’s.
