OB-GYN Office Expands in New Ground-up Goodyear Facility

Post Date:06/25/2020 9:45 AM

Estrella Women’s Health Center, an OB-GYN practice by Estrella Parkway and Interstate 10, will move and expand this autumn to a new facility just one mile south of its current location.

The 11,080-square-foot building will be three times larger, and is currently under construction in the up and coming residential and retail districts of Centerra and Hudson Commons – located just south of Van Buren Street at 35 N. Estrella Parkway.

“We will have one side of the building dedicated to midwifery patients, while the other side is regular OB-GYN,” says Justin D. Wood, the practice administrator.

The extra space will enable the office to expand from a doctor, a nurse practitioner and a midwife to two doctors, three nurse practitioners (or physician assistants) and four midwives. It also will accommodate 17 hourly staff members – front office, medical assistants and ultrasound techs – up from nine at the existing location.

The center has operated in Goodyear for five years. According to Wood, it chose to expand close by because the area is growing and will need more OB-GYNs. The move is scheduled for Nov. 6.

Goodyear is, in fact, one of Arizona’s fastest-growing communities, with a population increasing by 5% in just one year – more than double that of other Greater Phoenix cities.

Estrella Women's Health Center is part of Arizona OBGYN Affiliates (AOA), an integrated family of OB-GYN physicians.

As the largest OB-GYN practice in the state, AOA is dedicated to providing exceptional women’s health care through its branch offices and Valleywide locations. Each branch operates independently but is part of a single, larger family. This allows its physicians to focus on what they do best – meeting the highest levels of clinical, technical and ethical standards in women’s healthcare.
