It’s Official Trader Joe’s in Goodyear will Open on Friday, Nov. 7

The countdown is officially on in the nation's ninth-fastest growing city. We are only days away from Trader Joe’s opening its very first store in Goodyear. Trader Joe’s will open on Friday, Nov. 7 on the northwest corner of McDowell Road and Bullard Avenue in the heart of Goodyear's developing downtown, GSQ.

The love for Trader Joe’s runs deep in Goodyear. Since 2017 when the city began conducting surveys asking residents which businesses they want in Goodyear, the number one most requested grocer in every survey has been Trader Joe's. In 2019, the city proclaimed Dec. 13 as, "We Want Trader Joe's Day in Goodyear." Hundreds of residents gathered on a cold winter morning to sign petitions asking the grocer to come. They even made signs and wore shirts proclaiming their love for the company.

In 2022, the city held a four-hour 55th birthday party for Trader Joe's which was livestreamed to residents on social media. Hundreds of residents put virtual candles on the wall-sized birthday cake begging for the grocer to come to Goodyear. Earlier this year, another community celebration was held to reveal Trader Joe’s was coming to the city.
